Meet The Team
Meet the CSM Volunteer Club Leadership Team! We are excited to help improve the surrounding community through our volunteer efforts.

Founder
Jacob Stattenfield
Hi, I am Jacob Stattenfield and I am currently leading the CSM Volunteer Club from across the Atlantic studying abroad in Barcelona. I started our Volunteer Club to help share my passion for volunteering! I am a philosophy major and aspiring lawyer hoping to strengthen my leadership and teamwork skills through volunteering, all while helping the surrounding community. In my free time I enjoy cooking, woodworking, and playing soccer.

President
Samantha Ishikawa
Hello! My name is Samantha Ishikawa and I am a sophomore majoring in film. Growing up, I developed a passion for helping others and bettering my community through volunteering. By creating and informing others of events, I hope to introduce fun volunteering opportunities and share my passion.

Event Coordinator
Hnin Pwint Phyu (Jewel)
Hi! I’m Jewel, an international student from Burma, majoring in Business Administration. This is my second semester here at CSM and I’ll be the Club Advertiser for this semester. It is one of my passions to help out the people and to give back to the community. Through this experience I hope to make good memories together!

Treasurer
Nikita Yentus
I am a freshman at College of San Mateo studying Business Administration. Before Volunteer Club, I contributed to organizations such as reach out and animal shelters, so joining Vol Club was a no-brainer! In my free time, I enjoy running my bin cleaning business and partaking in sports such as TaeKwonDo and golf. After CSM, I hope to be able to transfer to a top business school.

Event Coordinator
Eugene Teng
Hi, I'm Eugene! I'm a current Comp Sci major at CSM. Growing up, I was always taught to give back to my community whenever I had the opportunity to. I hope that through the Volunteer Club I would be able to do that while also sharing the experience volunteering with others as well.

Co-Advisor
Alex Kramer
Alex serves as a point of contact with regional employers seeking to engage with faculty and students at the college. In his role, Alex manages Strong Workforce Program funding provided by the state to ensure that career education programs at College of San Mateo teach in-demand skills that prepare students to be successful once earning a certificate or degree. In his free time Alex enjoys traveling, going to concerts, trying new restaurants and working on vintage Volkswagens.

Co-Advisor
LaShonda Kennedy
LaShonda currently manages the Strong Workforce Cooperative Education program. Outside of work, she is a board member of the Junior League of Palo Alto Mid-Peninsula and is currently the Vice Chair of the Redwood City Transportation Advisory Committee. Nationally she serves as the American Heart Association volunteer liaison to the Corporate Roundtable Board of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators. LaShonda is also a founding board member of The You Artistry Collaborative (YAC), an intercultural co-educational cooperative of artists and educators providing a community-based approach to learning.

Secretary
Ashley Kyi Phyu
Hi everyone! I am Aye Mya Kyi Phyu, an international student from Burma. I go by my preferred first name, Ashley. I participated in volunteering activities as a child in my mother’s non-profit organization. Eventually, it started to grow on me. I want to be someone who people can rely on. By serving as a secretary of the Volunteer club, I want to connect with more people and help the community as much as I can.
